Home Information

Moon Beam Modern was designed to strike a balance between high-performance features, modern
finishes, and a tight budget. This goal led us to start with a simple form of two rectangles and add in the
most important comfort, durability, health, safety, and convenience features. The home goes well above
code-required minimum insulation levels and air tightness with a fully insulated passive house style slab
on grade foundation, exterior insulation, upgraded windows, an unvented conditioned attic, and airtight
building methodologies.
A small one ton heat pump heats and cools the all-electric home and a high efficiency ERV provides
constant fresh air with heat recovery for a healthy home. The open layout with tall ceilings, tall doors, and
expansive windows lives larger than its 1655 square foot footprint. Owner convenience attributes
incorporated here include a groutless shower system for ease of cleaning, fast hot water delivery time
system, curbless shower entries, large workstation kitchen sink, ultra low maintenance exterior with a
combination of standing seam metal roof and siding, stucco, and composite wood that will never need
paint or stain, and a ground gutter system instead of traditional roof gutters. The landscaping follows the
home design with low maintenance artificial grass, drought-tolerant plants, and spacious concrete patios
for the owner's enjoyment.
We hope you can appreciate some of the simple, innovative, and modern design decisions chosen for this
home that make it a comfortable, durable, and enjoyable environment.

Above Code Homes is a high-performance builder committed to craftsmanship, cutting-edge

Brian’s extensive background in construction, real estate, and project management, paired with
his study of a “house-as-a-system” principles, fuels his passion for innovation. At Above Code
Homes, we push the envelope in architecture, engineering, materials, and design—creating homes that are high-performance, energy-efficient, and built to last a lifetime.

Brian’s eye for detail, commitment to quality, and modern approach set Above Code Homes apart. With professional communication and collaboration, we strive to make the custom home-building process enjoyable for every client.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys life with his wife Kelly, their two boys—Kody and Beauden—and a lively crew of pups and horses. He loves camping, dirt biking, mountain biking, and monster truck playtime with his kids.

We are thrilled to debut our first Parade home, Moon Beam Modern, and hope you enjoy its innovative, non-traditional features!
