Modern technology integrates with rustic materials inspired by the surrounding desert mountains for a comfortable yet sophisticated Colorado home. Custom metal brackets by a local blacksmith add interest to handcrafted timber beams framing vaulted ceiling lines. A substantial granite island with built-in cooktop provides a centerpiece for gathering in a spacious, open-concept living area. Visitors enjoy a sleek, tiled fireplace where tradition meets contemporary style.
This home takes sustainability to the next level. Its 2 by 6 exterior walls and wet blown cellulose insulation both conserve energy and enhance soundproofing performance. Additional energy efficient elements include an insulated foundation, 80-Series windows, on-demand tankless water heater and a learning thermostat, helping you to do more while using less. Technology is seamlessly woven into the fabric of this home with features that will make you feel both safe and comfortable, including a video doorbell and innovative light solutions controlled by your phone.

“Building to the Highest Standards.”
Carlos Ruiz began his career in construction in the Dallas area over 20 years ago, owning a successful framing construction business for over a decade. When Carlos and his wife, Nicole, moved home to Western Colorado in 2009, Carlos had the opportunity to work for a major residential builder in the area, where he learned the full scope of the residential building process. At the same time, he earned a degree in Construction Technologies and Supervision from Colorado Mesa University. Eager to bring together his textbook knowledge and years of practical experience in homebuilding, he seized the first opportunity to launch his own homebuilding business and founded Alta Home Builders.
Nicole joined the Alta Home Builders team full-time in 2018, shifting gears after a 14-year career in the non-profit sector. She holds a BA and an MA from the University of Notre Dame. Together, Carlos and Nicole oversee every detail of their small business, from finance to finishes. Nicole is also a licensed real estate agent with Robinson and Co. Realty, and she loves bringing to life design ideas that make the houses feel like homes and reflect their values.
Their latest project strives to provide cost-effective yet sophisticated homes to serve the growing Fruita community. With nine unique builds in Soren Estates, residents will have the Colorado National Monument as the backdrop to their home. Alta is also constructing a sixteen-unit development with affordable, lock-and-leave Gewont Townhomes.
Alta Home Builders specializes in building attractive homes in a price range that is customized to your family’s needs and your personal style. Alta can offer you the innovative style and features that are important to you, while maintaining the integrity of quality construction.
